Bicycle Lecture and Bike Ride

The UM School of Architecture, Miami’s Green Mobility Network and TRANSITMIAMI.COM are co-sponsoring “Connecting Miami,” a two-day lecture and bicycle event to promote bicycling as part of the three organizations’ sustainability efforts to help make our city and county more bikable – and livable.

The lecture will be on Friday, March 25, 6:30 p.m. with Paul Steely White, Executive Director of Transportation Alternatives, a non-profit advocacy group of New York City’s bike-lane and public-space program. Free and open to the public, the lecture will be in the University’s Jorge M. Perez Architecture Center Glasgow Hall. Since seating is limited, the lecture is first come, first served.

The bicycle ride with Mr. White on Saturday the 26th will begin at the University Metrorail Station at 10:00 a.m. This 2nd annual “Tweed Ride” of the Green Mobility Network will celebrate bicycling through historic Coral Gables and encourages cyclists to wear “old-timey” apparel. Please RSVP for the ride via Green Mobility Network’s facebook page. You may also visit http://www.greenmobilitynetwork.org

The event is also promoted on the UM School of Architecture website, facebook page and twitter (www.arc.miami.edu ).
