WHAT:  “Standup for the Cure Miami,” is a day of paddling and fun family activities for a good cause, including a “Sea of Pink Parade”, races for men, women and children and relay teams, as well as a health expo and live music and great local food.

Additionally, technicians will be available on-site to provide free breast or skin cancer examinations.

Spokespersons will be available to discuss the event, how to get involved and raise funds and the role of genetic testing in breast cancer, including: stand up paddle world champions Brennan Rose and Zane Schweitzer and a genetic counselor to answer questions on the link between genetics and breast cancer risks and the importance of early detection.

WHEN: Saturday, November 7, 2015, 8:00 AM-2:00 PM, EST

WHERE: The Miami Yacht Club, 1001 MacArthur Causeway, Miami, FL 33132

WHY:     According to the American Cancer Society, there are over 300,000 new cases and over 40,000 lives claimed in the United States every year due to breast cancer.
