Nance’s work as a photographer for the U.S. delegation at FESTAC 77, otherwise known as the Second World Festival of Black and African Arts and Culture in Lagos, Nigeria, is particularly noteworthy. Her comprehensive photographic account of the festival has recently been published in her book “Marilyn Nance: Last Day in Lagos,” providing a valuable historical record for generations to come.
