Police Department Recognized for Commitment to Safety and Excellence

Joe Caragol, Director, City of Hialeah Emergency Management; Dan Edward, Radiation Shield Technologies; Members of the City of Hialeah Police Department  City of Hialeah Emergency Management Director Joe Caragol was recognized for his department’s ongoing initiative to keep safety top-of-mind for the community and emergency response teams. At the Police Mutual Aid Luncheon on Friday, Sept. 17, Dan Edward with Radiation Shield Technologies (RST), a Miami-based company and a global leader in the research, development and production of personal-protection systems, presented Caragol with a plaque for his commitment to remain at the forefront of new technologies.

Caragol and the City of Hialeah Emergency Management recently worked with RST to educate first responders on the latest personal-protection technology called Demron. This unique technology enables our first responders and military to simultaneously combat all the threats faced today, including traditional ballistics and bombs as well as IED’s, RDD’s, RED’s and the ever-increasing nuclear and radiological threats.

The plaque presentation took place at the Police Mutual Aid Luncheon at Las Culebrinas restaurant in Hialeah, Florida, in front of approximately 30 colleagues and first responders who work every day to ensure the safety of our communities.
