Southern Smash travels to the University of Miami on March 1st

The University of Miami brings Southern Smash’s signature Scale Smash to the Campus Green on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to raise eating disorder awareness and promote positive body image. Southern Smash founder and motivational speaker, McCall Dempsey, will share her story along with three panelists during SmashTALK: Miami in the Union West Ballroom from 7 – 8 p.m.

“Smashers” will take sledgehammers to scales to demolish the idea of perfection, write on “Let it Go” balloons to release their ideal numbers and create “Dare to LOVE Yourself” cards. Events are free and open to the public thanks to title sponsor, Olivery-Pyatt Treatment Centers.

Founder and Chief Smasher McCall Dempsey started Southern Smash in November 2012, after battling an eating disorder for 15 years, to challenge men and women to redefine their worth and beauty by letting go of the perfect number.

The 501(c)3 non-profit, Southern Smash, aims to educate the public about the dangers of eating disorders, while empowering women to celebrate and embrace true beauty and self-love. For more information on Southern Smash, visit www.southernsmash.org.
