FIU School of Hospitality and Tourism Management to Celebrate Completion of Carnival Student Center

Ribbon-cutting ceremony and scholarship presentations to commemorate the completion of the new Carnival Student Center, an innovative offering at Florida International University’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. The 2,600-square-foot building will become a “hub” for students to meet, study and create business relationships. With an advising center, reading room, computer workstations and fully-equipped conference rooms, anyone from student organizations to industry executives scouting prospective interns and employees can utilize the new space. The Carnival Student Center and Carnival Scholarship Endowment were made possible by a gift to the school from Miami-based Carnival Corporation & plc which qualifies for a match from the State of Florida.

WHO: In attendance at the event will be, among others, Howard Frank, vice chairman and chief operating officer of Carnival Corporation; Albert E. Dotson, FIU Board of Trustees chairman; Mark B. Rosenberg, FIU president; Steven Moll, FIU vice provost for Biscayne Bay Campus; and Mike Hampton, dean of FIU School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Brief comments will be offered, along with the presentation of Carnival scholarships to FIU School of Hospitality and Tourism Management students.
