The 2010 Fairchild Challenge/BGCI Global Option, offered as part of the Fairchild Challenge environmental education outreach program, in partnership with Botanic Gardens Conservation International, provided high school students worldwide with an opportunity to design the cover for the CD single, “Footprints,” by London-based independent band Storey. The song explores the importance of reducing our ecological footprint on Earth.
 
Jose Garcia, an 18-year-old senior at Miami Lakes Educational Center, came up with the winning design. He was awarded a framed CD signed by the band, a certificate and Fairchild Challenge medal.
 
CDs may be purchased at the event and through the Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) website: www.bgci.org/education/2422. The song is also available for download on iTunes. Sale proceeds benefit the Fairchild Challenge and the BGCI in London.

The Fairchild Challenge is a South Florida-based environmental outreach program founded in 2002 at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.
