Dade Medical College recently welcomed U.S. Senator Bob Menendez from New Jersey to its Miami Campus. Senator Menendez toured the campus to see first-hand the quality of the education administered at Dade Medical College and how they address the needs of career college students.
Career colleges are clearly tied to the demands of the proposed healthcare reform since it is evident that traditional colleges and universities will not be able to meet Florida’s healthcare employee demands alone. According to the Florida Association of Post Secondary Schools and Colleges (FAPSC), approximately 60% of Florida’s healthcare employees have been trained at career colleges like Dade Medical College, whose focus is an outcome-based education.

During the tour, the Senator remarked that he was not only very impressed with the Miami Campus, but also on the importance of institutions such as Dade Medical College, whose mission is to provide individuals, who under normal circumstances would not have the means or the time needed to attend a more traditional educational institution, to achieve his or her professional goal.
