New World Symphony, America’s Orchestral Academy, held its premier Gala: 1000 on March 12, an evening that emceed by acclaimed actor Malcolm McDowell in honor of reaching 1,000 alumni. The event was made even more special by the return of five alumni luminaries who have transformed the world of classical music.
Ticket holders were treated to a unique live performance that unites past and current Fellows in celebration of the organization’s milestone achievement. They were guided through the experience by the Master of Ceremonies, Malcolm McDowell, who was chosen because of the star’s connection to classical music. McDowell currently plays the role of a traditional conductor on Amazon’s hit series Mozart In The Jungle.
All proceeds from Gala: 1000 benefit New World Symphony’s mission to provide meaningful cultural programs to the South Florida community, while preparing young musicians for careers in the world of classical music. The Gala is also a great opportunity to get involved in Friends of New World Symphony, the membership program for budding philanthropists and music lovers alike.
