WYNWOOD LIFE STREET FESTIVAL

unnamed-2What started out as a blog that celebrated life in the Wynwood neighborhood, has organically evolved into a festival that’s poised to raise the bar on all the things that Miami loves –art, music, fashion and food! The three-day celebration will take place in the hip Wynwood district on 6thAvenue, between 22nd and 24th Streets, from April 25th-27th. Trek6, the celebrated artist who has become synonymous with the area one wall at a time, will commemorate the festival by designing and painting the inaugural Wynwood Life poster and wall.

“The walls of Wynwood are intrinsic to this community, which is why we wanted to build a wall specifically for Trek6 to paint. That finished wall will be taken apart, brick by brick, and the first 350 posters will come with one of the numbered bricks from that one-of-a-kind work of art,” said Tony Albelo, festival curator. The idea behind this festival stemmed from the need to give local artists, craftsmen and designers the representation that they deserved by giving them a platform to showcase their creations.

Organizers expect 20,000 people over the course of the three-day event, partaking in everything that the festival has to offer. Top area vendors and artists, many of whom have been in some of Miami’s most respected graffiti crews, have signed up to be a part of this event, which will offer art, crafts, jewelry, fashion and food. Music will bounce off the walls with bands and DJ’s performing from two stages, including the top of the Trek6, boom box-painted building that overlooks I-95. Several runway shows will showcase local fashion designers throughout the day, and Wynwood area restaurants will be on hand to sell their fare.

Tickets start as low as $8.00 and can be purchased online at www.wynwoodlife.com. To receive the latest news, please “Like” their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/WynwoodLife, or follow them on Twitter and Instagram at WynwoodLife.
