Lisa S. Johnson, photographer & author of 108 Rock Star Guitars, has partnered with Gallery 88 to showcase three of her larger than life rock star guitar portraits from her latest book release during the “Soul Lullaby” show. The portraits include a one-of-a-kind, close-up photo of Jimi Hendrix’s Strat used during his 1969 Woodstock performance displaying the markings, dents and intimate bonds on the guitar. Other notable guitarists photos that will be exhibited during the evening are: Eric Clapton’s 1956 Fender Stratocaster “Brownie” that was used to record his beloved song “Layla” as well as a seductive portrait of The Velvet Undergound’s own Lou Reed’s, Bolin NS Guitar. The evening will feature the rockin’ portraits and signed copies of her book, 108 Rock Star Guitars. The photographs and book will be available for purchase at Gallery 88 through the end of February 2017.
