SiriusXM announced that Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levinewill host “The Mayor,” a limited-run show for SiriusXM Insight (channel 121). The six-week run will begin at 6pm ET on Tuesday, March 8.
On his new program the charismatic, recently re-elected mayor of the dynamic and diverse city of Miami Beachwill engage his fellow elected officials in honest discussions about the key issues involved in leading the country’s cities and states, with topics ranging from crime to the environment to the underreported challenges of improving infrastructure around the country. He’ll also get to know these leaders on a personal level, discovering what drives people to “take the plunge” and seek public office.
“The Mayor” will debut with a bipartisan, roundtable discussion with Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer (D) and Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett (R), as well as a one-on-one conversation with music producer and 19-time Grammy Award winner Emilio Estefan about his beloved hometown of Miami Beach and how both he and wife Gloria Estefan have advocated for keeping music a thriving part of the city’s culture. And with the nation’s eyes now turning to the all-important swing state of Florida following Super Tuesday, Mayor Levine will also speak with national figures about his home state’s crucial role in the 2016 Presidential election.
