According to global information company The NPD Group, Inc., “US sales of small kitchen appliances grew 15 percent, to $2.5 billion, in the first half of 2013 compared to the same time period one year ago.” The firm’s executive director explained, “Consumers’ desire to replicate away-from-home in the home” is one of the drivers fueling that trend. And the craze is showing no signs of letting up. Progressive Grocer placed the small kitchen appliance market at $6.2 billion in 2014.
