Enrique Iglesias Euphoria Tour comes to Hard Rock Live

Grammy-winning worldwide Latin sensation Enrique Iglesias will romance audiences at Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on February 10, 2011 at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, December 17 at noon.

Iglesias has had four Billboard Hot 100 top five singles including two #1s, and holds the record for producing 21 number 1 Spanish-language singles on the Billboard’s Hot Latin Tracks. Up until the release of his latest album, Euphoria this year, he had sold over 55 million albums in both English and Spanish.

The son of multi-million-selling singer Julio Iglesias, Enrique Iglesias was born in Madrid, Spain. In 1982, he moved to Miami. At Gulliver Preparatory School, Iglesias made his singing debut in a production of Hello, Dolly. After a year studying business at the University of Miami, he decided to follow his passion for music.

His self-titled debut released in1995, sold more than a million copies in three months (it earned him his first gold record in Portugal in a mere seven days) and to date has sold more than six million worldwide. His second album, Vivir (1997), enjoyed global sales of more than five million discs and launched his first world tour, backed by sidemen for Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, and Billy Joel. In a mere three years, Iglesias had sold more than 17 million Spanish-language albums, more than anyone else during that period. He also won the 1996 Grammy for Best Latin Performer, 1996’s Billboard Artist of the Year, Billboard’s Album of the Year for Vivir, two American Music Awards, a World Music Award, eight Premio Lo Nuestro awards, two ACE Performer of the Year awards, and ASCAP prizes for Best Composer of 1996 and 1997, in addition to countless accolades around the world.

Cosas del Amor (1998) followed as did Enrique, his first Interscope album and first in English. It achieved gold or platinum status in 32 countries and brought his global album sales to a total of more than 23 million. During the next two years, he released English and Spanish albums like Escape (2001), Quizás (2002) and the more mainstream recording, 7 (2003). Four years later, the single “Do You Know (The Ping Pong Song)” announced the coming of his 2007 album Insomniac.

Euphoria, released in 2010, gained attention on the strength of the singles “I Like It” and “Heartbeat.”

In addition to singing, Iglesias is an accomplished songwriter and budding actor. He collaborated with songwriter Guy Chambers to write “Un Nuovo Giorno,” the lead single from Andrea Bocelli’s first pop album. The song was later translated into English as “First Day of My Life” and recorded by Spice Girl Melanie C. Iglesias also wrote “The Way” for American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken. Four songs co-written by Iglesias appear on the The Hollies’ latest album. In 2000, Iglesias co-produced an off-Broadway musical called Four Guys Named Jose and Una Mujer Named Maria. Iglesias also starred alongside Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek and Johnny Depp in Once Upon a Time in Mexico and has appeared the hit TV shows Two and a Half Men and How I Met Your Mother.
