Exclusive meet-and-greet opportunity with South Florida-resident Montoya just prior to NASCAR Championship benefits Formula Smiles Foundation

Homestead-Miami Speedway has partnered with NASCAR driver and South Florida resident Juan Pablo Montoya to create “Race Day with Juan”—an exclusive meet-and-greet opportunity prior to the Nov. 21 Sprint Cup Championship at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The “Race Day with Juan” package benefits the Formula Smiles Foundation and includes:

? Ticket to Sprint Cup Championship-finale Ford 400 (front-stretch west, rows 11-21);

? Private pre-race meet-and-greet with Montoya in the infield Driver’s Meeting Room;

? Pre-Race Track Pass access to front-stretch for photos, autographs, Q&A sessions

? No. 42 Target Chevrolet commemorative hat;

? $42 donation to the Formula Smiles Foundation headed by Montoya and wife Connie

“Juan Pablo is an international motorsports superstar, and yet what he does off the track ,might be as impressive as what he has accomplished in the cockpit of a race car,” said Homestead-Miami Speedway President Matthew Becherer “Juan Pablo and Connie go above and beyond to help those in need, so Formula Smiles is a perfect partner for Homestead-Miami Speedway.”

The Montoya’s Formula Smiles Foundation aims to improve the quality of life for Colombian children in vulnerable situations by way of complementing a child’s education with participation in sports to reinforce classroom lessons; raising motivation to continue in school; gaining appreciation for the valuable use of free time; learning essential values that improve self esteem; and incentivizing kids to stay off the streets, and away from drugs and violence.

Among Formula Smiles’ fundraising efforts is the Nov. 18 “BeLive” benefit at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach on the eve of NASCAR’s Ford Championship Weekend at Montoya’s “home track” of Homestead-Miami Speedway. “BeLive” is attended each year by more than 500 international guests, including celebrities from the industries of sports, music and fashion.

Montoya is in just his fourth full-time year in NASCAR after dominating the open-wheel racing circuit, where he won a CART Championship, the Indianapolis 500 and seven Formula 1 races, (including the famed Monaco Grand Prix). A Miami resident since 2006, the Colombian native made motorsports history last fall as the first non-American born driver ever to qualify for NASCAR’s Chase for the Sprint Cup “playoffs.” This season, Montoya has driven to victory at Watkins Glen and has a driver rating of 93.2 to rank ninth in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
