On Wednesday, November 4, José Andrés Group will team up with Miami's acclaimed Bar Kaiju for Cocktails to Astonish — a one-night-only cocktail takeover at Lapidus Bar, located inside The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach.
The event is inspired by Marvel Comics' Meals to Astonish series, which features Chef José Andrés and his humanitarian organization, World Central Kitchen, alongside iconic superheroes including Spider-Man and the Avengers. The evening brings the comics' imaginative spirit to life through inventive cocktails, art, and music.
Six Exclusive Cocktails
The collaboration showcases six exclusive cocktails created by the teams at Bar Kaiju and Lapidus Bar, blending unexpected flavors, playful experimentation, and creative mixology. The cocktail list draws from the visual language of the Marvel universe — expect names and presentations that reference the comics without being literal about it.
Bar Kaiju has established itself as one of Miami's most creative cocktail programs since opening in Wynwood. The team's approach — theatrical presentations, unexpected ingredient combinations, and a genuine commitment to craft — makes them a natural partner for an event built around imagination.
Original Artwork and Live Vinyl
The evening features original artwork by Eric Bonhomme and a live vinyl DJ — a format that keeps the energy high without overwhelming the cocktail experience. The Lapidus Bar setting, with its South Beach location and the Ritz-Carlton's architectural backdrop, provides the right canvas for an event that's as much about atmosphere as it is about the drinks.
The event is open to the public, with specialty cocktails available for purchase. Media arrival at 6:30 PM. Event runs 7–10 PM.
Lapidus Bar is located at 1 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach. The event is free to attend; cocktails are priced separately. This is a one-night-only event — there are no repeat dates.
