Woody Allen’s new star-studded comedy To Rome With Love will begin its South Florida First Run Engagement at the Coral Gables Art Cinema on July 6 in 35mm. After his huge success with Midnight In Paris, Allen has moved on to the Italian center of love and passion, Rome. In this kaleidoscopic comedy, multiple story lines, and adventures and misadventures, entangle a bevy of American and Italian characters played by some of the biggest names in the movies today – Alec Baldwin, Roberto Benigni, Penélope Cruz, Judy Davis, Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page and of course, Woody Allen

There is a well-known American architect reliving his youth; an average middle-class Roman who suddenly finds himself the city’s biggest celebrity; a young couple drawn into separate romantic encounters; and an American opera director endeavoring to put a singing mortician on stage. To Rome With Love is an ode to the many Italian films that influenced Woody Allen as a young artist. The film treats Rome as an another character, one filled with intrigue and romance. For the award-wining Woody Allen, Rome was a place that was too vast to be contained by a single, simple plot. “I felt the city of Rome lent itself to a number of diverse tales,” he says. “It was pregnant with possibilities. If you stop a hundred Romans, they’ll tell you: ‘I’m from the city, I know it well and I could give you a million stories.'”

Gables Cinema Director Robert Rosenberg says, “Allen is one of the most important directors working in film today, a huge idol of mine, and still amazingly relevant and popular after over four decades of movie making.” Tickets for all screenings are $11 and under and are available for purchase in advance  on the Cinema’s website at www.gablescinema.com or in person at the box office during regular screening hours.
