During Art Basel Miami Beach
The Miami Poetry Collective (“MPC”) will open the Poem Depot, a pop-up store that sells original poems written on manual typewriters-in the Locust Projects’ courtyard.

MPC was founded by Campbell McGrath at a plastic table in front of Zeke’s Roadhouse Bar, Miami Beach in November 2008. The group’s twenty-some members range from national prize winners to emerging poets who have never been published, to fiction writers, and visual artists with a passion for language. One of the group’s principal ventures is the Poem Depot, a pop-up store that sells poems written on manual typewriters. Poem Depot has become a regular feature of Wynwood’s Second Saturday Art Walk and has also appeared in conjunction with the Miami Art Museum’s JAM@MAM, Miami-Dade Public Library, Books & Books, Tigertail Productions, the Miami Book Fair, and the Margulies Collection. The MPC also publishes and distributes The Cent Journal Series: A Modern Anthology of Miami Poets, a regularly-appearing, closed-submission journal printed and assembled in one night, and an on-going, multi-voiced poem on Twitter (@mpc140). The group’s activities are produced in collaboration with the University of Wynwood (universityofwynwood.org), an arts-advocacy organization made possible by John and James L. Knight Foundation.
