Marlin, Salt Water Sportsman, and Sport Fishing Magazines Sponsor 2010 Miami International Boat Show’s Big Game Room
During the 2010 Miami International Boat Show, Marlin, Salt Water Sportsman and Sport Fishing magazines will return as sponsors of the Miami International Boat Show’s Big Game Room.
“The Miami Boat Show staff has done an excellent job of promoting the size and scope of the saltwater fishing market throughout the Southeast and around the Keys and the Caribbean,” noted Glenn Hughes, group publisher of Fly Fishing in Salt Waters, Marlin, Salt Water Sportsman and Sport Fishing magazines. “We feel privileged once again to sponsor the Big Game Room and all it represents to the industry and the anglers attending.”
The Big Game Room began as the dream of Jimmy Loveland, a big-game tournament organizer in St. Thomas, and Joanne Zito, sales manager for the Miami International Boat Show during the 2004 event. The Big Game Room became a major attraction and tradition for the show. Thousands of boaters, conservation groups, celebrity anglers, captains, boating company executives, accessory manufacturers and other sporting enthusiasts gather annually in the Big Game Room to socialize and swap information on fishing trends and old stories, plus check out the newest boating products.
During the past six years, sport-fishing aficionados from around the world including Australia, Africa, and Europe have traveled to the Big Game Room. Celebrities including Manny Puig, Norm Isaacs, Chris and Melissa Fischer, Bouncer Smith, Ron Hamlin and Peter Wright have also made appearances and provided their tales and advice for fishing the open seas.
On the Big Game Room Seminar Stage, visitors may participate in various educational seminars on topics including boat handling, bait rigging, knot-tying and fishing international hot spots. Besides seminars and celebrities, visitors can sign up for Marlin University and network with Marlin, Salt Water Sportsman and Sport Fishing editors and staff. Visitors may also win prizes in numerous drawings.
