Formula 1 Returns to Miami: The Hard Rock Miami Grand Prix Is April 30–May 2, 2027
The Formula 1 Hard Rock Miami Grand Prix is back for 2027, running April 30 through May 2 at Hard Rock Stadium. One of the most anticipated events on the F1 calendar — and on the PGM calendar.
Part of our ongoing curation of what it means to live, love, and play in the Magic City.
This Weekend's Geography
1 neighborhoodIt has become one of the most anticipated weekends on the South Florida calendar. The Formula 1 Hard Rock Miami Grand Prix returns for 2027, running from Thursday, April 30 through Sunday, May 2, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. Since its debut in 2022, the Miami Grand Prix has established itself as one of the signature events on the F1 calendar — not just for the racing, but for everything that surrounds it.
Miami race week is its own category of event. The Grand Prix is the centerpiece, but the three days around it are something else entirely.
The circuit runs around and through the Hard Rock Stadium complex — a 5.41-kilometer layout with 19 corners, a long straight, and a mix of high-speed and technical sections that has produced competitive racing in each of its first seasons. The race is a 57-lap sprint, typically running around 90 minutes, with the full weekend including practice sessions on Thursday and Friday, qualifying on Saturday, and the Grand Prix on Sunday.
The Full Weekend
The Miami Grand Prix weekend is structured around more than just the race. The paddock club and hospitality suites draw a significant celebrity and business crowd. The fan zones — including the Hard Rock Beach Club, the Marina, and the various branded activations throughout the venue — are designed to be destinations in their own right. In previous years, the weekend has featured performances, brand activations, and the kind of social scene that makes Miami race week a distinct event on the global calendar.
Miami's Motorsport Triple
The 2027 Miami Grand Prix is the third of three major motorsport events at Hard Rock Stadium in a four-month window. The ABB FIA Formula E Miami E-Prix runs February 20. The Miami Open tennis tournament runs March 14–28. And then Formula 1 closes the sequence in late April and early May. For anyone who follows motorsport — or who simply wants to experience world-class sporting events in one of the world's great cities — the first half of 2027 in Miami Gardens is worth planning around.
The broader Miami race week also extends beyond the stadium. South Beach, Brickell, Wynwood, and the Design District all see elevated activity during Grand Prix weekend, with restaurants, hotels, and venues hosting events tied to the race. If you are in Miami for the weekend, the energy extends well beyond the circuit.
