The Venezuelan Independence Festival, celebrating its 22nd year, is proud to announce its partnership with Sun Life Stadium. The largest event in the United States to directly cater to the Venezuelan community will take place Sunday, July 7, 2013 in the Grand Plaza at Sun Life Stadium. Artist and ticket information will be announced soon.

The partnership is part of a long term deal with the stadium and El Venezolano to build the festival platform aimed at the growing Venezuelan and multi-cultural Hispanic community in South Florida.

“As we continue to grow our ties to South Florida’s Hispanic community, we are very happy the Venezuelan Independence Festival has chosen Sun Life Stadium as their new home,” said Todd Boyan, Senior Vice President, Sun Life Stadium. “We look forward to working together with El Venezolano and its partners to keep growing the Venezuelan Independence Festival for many years to come.”

“After 21 years, we are eager and excited to continue this Venezuelan tradition at Sun Life Stadium, located in the heart of South Florida, and the home of the Miami Dolphins,” said Daniel García, representing the Festival. “With this move, the Festival is poised to expand its reach and bring together the best of the Venezuelan culture and traditions to all Floridians.”

Starting this year, the Festival will present an Expo-Venezuela, a small-business expo aimed at strengthening the ties between the Venezuelan and Hispanic public with the business community in South Florida. Other benefits will include an expanded VIP section, a spacious children’s area, and ample free parking.

Through this partnership with Sun Life Stadium, the Venezuelan Independence Festival will begin a new journey bringing together the best musical and cultural traditions to South Florida.

Since 1991, the Venezuelan Independence Festival has presented some of the best Venezuelan and latin artists in the world, including: Celia Cruz, José Luis “El Puma” Rodríguez, Oscar D’León, Guaco, Chino y Nacho, Grupo Niche, Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, among others.
