UM JERRY HERMAN RING THEATRE’S FINAL PRODUCTION OF 2010-11 SEASON: Rodgers and Hart’s Broadway classic – ‘Pal Joey’

Rodgers and Hart’s Broadway classic Pal Joey comes to the University of Miami Jerry Herman Ring Theatre this spring. Running from April 13 – 23, 2011, Pal Joey tells the story of Joey – a nightclub habitué in the habit of loving and leaving women. Despite that, he is also thoroughly lovable.

The creative duo of Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart wrote some of their best musical theatre songs for this show; “I Could Write a Book,” “Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered,” “You Mustn’t Kick It Around,” and “Zip.”  The 1940 Broadway production starred Gene Kelly in the title role.

This production will be directed by Henry Fonte, new Chair of the University of Miami College of Arts and Science Department of Theatre Arts and Artistic Director of the Jerry Herman Ring Theatre.

Tickets are $22 for weeknights and matinees and $25 for Friday and Saturday nights. There are discounts for seniors, students and UM faculty, staff and alumni. Pal Joey will be playing in the previously announced time slot for Carousel. Tickets go on sale on March 28th. To see the calendar of performances, click here.
