Apple Original Films has unveiled the release date for its upcoming action comedy film, “The Family Plan,” starring Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Monaghan. Directed by Simon Cellan Jones, the movie is set to debut on Apple TV+ on December 15, 2023.
“The Family Plan” follows the story of Dan Morgan (Mark Wahlberg), a seemingly ordinary suburban husband and father of three. Unbeknownst to his family, he was formerly an elite government assassin involved in taking down dangerous threats. When his past catches up with him, Dan embarks on an impromptu cross-country road trip to Las Vegas with his wife, teen daughter, pro-gamer son, and adorable baby in tow. In a bid to protect them while keeping his true identity secret, Dan must rely on his dormant skills.
The film, produced by Skydance Media in collaboration with Apple Original Films, is filled with action-packed sequences and comedic moments. Alongside Wahlberg and Monaghan, the cast includes Zoe Colletti, Van Crosby, Saïd Taghmaoui, Maggie Q, and Ciarán Hinds.
David Coggeshall penned the screenplay for “The Family Plan,” while David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Mark Wahlberg, and Stephen Levinson serve as producers. John G. Scotti takes on the role of executive producer.
