The Basia Show and Miss Basia Come to Miami

 October 19-20, 2011

Gracing more than 5 million television sets in 14 islands across the Caribbean, CEO of Basia TV, Alicia John-Powell aka Miss Basia, announces today that “The Basia Show” will expand to United States territory with six shows set to film in South Florida.  The show is open to a studio audience and will wrap up the successful sixth season.  This United States debut marks the official relocation for the production company with film dates slated for October 19-20, 2011.

The show has successfully been in production for two-and-half-years and is part of the Basia Group of Companies, established and currently headquartered in Trinidad and Tobago until later this month.  The company is run by John-Powell and her husband, former West Indian Cricketer, Ricardo Powell.

The day-time talk show offers an open-format, conversational tone where Miss Basia interviews international and Caribbean celebrities, while keeping her mission of promoting breast cancer awareness at the forefront.

According to Sherie Holder-Olutayo of Nation News, Barbados, “She is the Caribbean’s answer to Oprah Winfrey, a woman providing inspiration and empowerment while urging women to live their best lives. No one can describe Alicia John- Powell, aka Miss Basia, as preaching empty words.”
