Last week the law firm of Navarro Hernandez, P.L. proudly received “The Champion of the PTA” community partner award after being nominated by the distinguished Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial High School in Miami-Dade County. This award recognizes a company, organization or association who has demonstrated outstanding commitment and support to the vision, mission, and the values of PTA at a school site. Miami-Dade County council of PTAs/PTSAs (MDCC) is a constituent of the National Parent Teacher Association (PTA), the largest volunteer child advocacy association in the nation. With over 350 active units and over 56,000 members, MDCC in the largest county council in the state of Florida.
Last week at the 17th annual PTA/PTSA “every child-one voice” Leaders of Tomorrow award celebration and exhibition, the law firm’s nomination came to fruition when they were selected as the winners of this prestigious award. Present at the function to proudly receive the award were Luis Navarro and Henry Hernandez (founders of the law firm), along with the school’s principal Mr. Christopher Shinn and PTA President Bethsy Ramos.
Through the years the Navarro Hernandez law firm has been committed to supporting Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial High School, the first school of its kind in the world, opened on August 24, 2009 with its initial class of ninth graders who will become the school’s first graduating class in 2013. Miami-Dade County Public Schools and the City of Miami/Miami Police Department have joined forces to provide students with a one-of-a-kind opportunity in the areas of law and law enforcement. The focus is to provide a rigorous education across all the content areas while tying in the program’s career objectives.
