South Florida Ford partnered with the Florida Panthers and Autism Speaks for a night of fun dedicated to families who have children on the autism spectrum at the Panthers game on Saturday, April 2nd in honor of World Autism Day. At the game, Allan Young, Chairman of South Florida Ford, had the honor of joining Jonathan Brown, a local youth with autism who was an honoree Panther for a Day, in participating in the opening puck drop.
Attendees were given the opportunity to experience the hard-hitting, fast-paced thrills of NHL hockey. Several families in the autism community were provided with a designated suite, as well as a, sensory room for the children to enjoy before and after the game. Following the game, several Panthers players visited the sensory room to sign autographs and take pictures with the families. The entire night’s game presentation educated the public on autism and our local community’s efforts to raise funds for Autism Speaks’ local programs. South Florida Ford also presented a $10,000 check to Autism Speaks from the #Ford4Autism Twitter and Hashtag promotion from 2015.
At the game, guests were encouraged to take a picture of themselves and uploaded it on to their Instagram and twitter accounts using the hashtag#FORD4AUTISM and South Florida Ford will donate $5 to Autism Speaks.
