Pao by Paul Qui proudly presents the next installment of its Chef Collective Series, a gastronomic event in which chefs from around the world come together to create an innovative menu of unpredictable flavors.
Pao’s Executive Chef, Paul Qui, and Chef de Cuisine Benjamin Murray will prepare a decadent meal alongside James Beard Rising Star Chef nominees Valerie and Fernando Chang of celebrated Peruvian-Japanese restaurant, Itamae. Joining their respective heritages – Filipino, Japanese and Peruvian – into a collaborative menu, guests can expect deliciously bold flavors incorporating local and seasonal ingredients.
Brother-Sister Chef Duo, Valerie and Fernando Chang of Itamae at Miami Design Districts’, St. Roch Market, have forged an impressive career working for some of the world’s most famous chefs.
Garnering praise as one of Miami’s top young chefs, earning the 2018 Eater Young Gun Nomination and 2019 James Beard Semifinalist Nomination for Rising Star Chef, Valerie Chang paved her way working alongside Michelin Star Chef, Albert Adria’s Pakta restaurant in Barcelona, and Michael Solomonov, winner of James Beard Foundation award for Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic 2011. At Itamae, Valerie enjoys exploring her roots cooking and discovering her connection to the food of her birthplace, Peru.
Similarly, Fernando Chang, a 2019 James Beard Rising Star Chef Semifinalist expresses his multi-talented facets by working in the kitchen at Itamae breaking down whole fish for sushi and ceviche by day to performing his newly released EP by night. Through the eyes of a Chef and creator, Fernando expresses himself the best way he knows how, through his food and lyrics.
Prix fixe Chef Collective tasting menu priced at $95 per person, exclusive of tax and service charges. Price includes one (1) welcome cocktail per guest.
