Palm Beach Food & Wine Festival 2012

The 6th Annual Palm Beach Food & Wine Festival, taking place Dec 7- 11.

 

Increasing to five-day, five-night affair, this year’s Festival features more than 25 nationally renowned chefs/personalities/wine experts in quintessential Palm Beach locations. Think food legends such as Daniel Boulud, David Burke and the Le Cirque family, Food Network stars like Marc Murphy, Robert Irvine and Marc Summers and other nationally recognized talent such as chefs Jacques Torres, Kevin Sbraga, Stephanie Izard, Fabio Viviani, Chris Hastings and more all hosting incredible events at places like The Breakers Resort and The Breakers Rees Jones Golf Course, a farm!, Buccan, 150 WORTH and more.

This year’s Festival will also feature a “trade only” panel discussion on “How To Build Your Brand Without Selling Out,” featuring  Daniel Boulud, David Burke, Marc Murphy, and John Kunkel. Essentially, it’s about how to maintain one’s credibility while taking advantage of new opportunities and revenue streams (TV, appearances, endorsements, etc.).

 

Golf Digest® Celebrity Chef Golf Cup and Food Truck: Impossible presented by Regions Wealth Management

 

Get your game on in true Palm Beach style. Under the Florida sun, guests will be paired up in foursomes that will include golf pros, VIPs, star chefs and restaurateurs.  Sponsored by Golf Digest® magazine, the tournament will be held at the preeminent Breakers Rees Jones® Golf Course, which was recently reconstructed to have more than 7,100 yards and changed into a par 72 layout. Work up an appetite because after the tournament, the festivities continue with a high-stakes, high-energy food truck challenge. Chef and television personality Robert Irvine, host of Food Network’s hit shows “Dinner: Impossible” and “Restaurant: Impossible” will be the final judge on which truck wins the right to set up at the Grand Tasting finale at 150 WORTH.

The celebratory tone of the festival is set by kick-off reception Daniel and Friends, hosted by acclaimed Daniel Boulud in the glittering Fountain Courtyard and Terrace of Café Boulud Palm Beach Friday night. This evening is about indulging your palate with exquisite eats and creative cocktails prepared by the eminent chef and his Café Boulud team led by chef Jim Leiken. The start of a delicious weekend, the reception is the perfect occasion to mingle with other celebrated Festival chefs among live entertainment.

This year’s tribute dinner, held at the legendary Breakers resort, offers guests a chance to indulge in the decadence of one of the most famous restaurants in the world Le Cirque of New York City. An Evening with Le Cirque: A Tribute to Sirio pays tribute to owner and maître d’ Sirio Maccioni by bringing together eminent chefs Daniel Boulud (a Le Cirque alum), David Burke, Marc Murphy and Jacques Torres, along with The Breakers’ executive chef of banquets Jeff Simms and master sommelier Virginia Philip, for a dinner of dreams. With the help of the restaurant’s own chef Olivier Reginensi, its iconic décor, and the famed Sirio himself, all senses will be ignited as The Breakers recreates this renowned New York establishment.

This true farm-to-table event is hosted at local favorite Swank Farms’ organic and hydroponic farm.  Get back to basics with renowned chefs Marc Vetri, Mike Lata, Robert Irvine, and Bravo’s “Top Chef” winner Kevin Sbraga with local favorites Lindsey Autry, Zach Bell and Dean Max out on the farm. Guests will tour the hydroponic growing houses and dine al fresco in Swank’s fields of greens.
