South Florida moms can now turn to the new, mommy-matching website called PlaygroupConnect.com to be matched with like-minded moms in their area. Moms can upload photos, create a profile, message their matches within the secure site and see a listing of mom and kid-friendly places and events within a 50-mile radius of the user.
“It’s like the Facebook for Moms”, explains Shannon Koonin, a local mother and founder of Playgroupconnect.com.
The website is celebrating its re-launch with a new look online and two “mommy meet up” events taking place offline in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties this September.
Boca Play Station is hosting a Playgroup Connect mommy mixer on Thursday, September 23, from 4: 00 p.m. to 6: 00 p.m., where children can enjoy free play and face-painting, while mothers can catch up and enjoy giveaways and refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.
Upscale coffee house and play room Café Bambini in Aventura is hosting a Playgroup Connect party for the whole family on Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with art activities, a science and discovery center, fun games, prizes and yummy snacks from Segafredo and Dolce Vita. The cost is $5 for moms (children free) and the event is open to the public.
