The inaugural Miami Art+Design Fair (MA+D) is joining with a cultural mainstay of the local community to mark the Fair’s debut in downtown Miami. David and Lee Ann Lester, International Fine Art Expositions (IFAE) principals and organizers of MA+D, today announced the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum will be the beneficiary of the inaugural preview evening, February 13th, 2014. The Museum will also conduct special tours in conjunction with the fair.

“The partnership is a natural fit for the Museum,” said Carol Damian, Director & Chief Curator of the Frost Art Museum at Florida International University. “We are excited to collaborate with Miami Art+Design in marking the beginning of a new artistic institution for downtown’s burgeoning arts and entertainment district.”

The Frost Art Museum, located on the Florida International University campus, provides an exceptional resource for scholarly research and interdisciplinary collaboration, augmenting the University’s educational mission as both a local and global center of knowledge and culture.

“As long time art fair organizers and recent full-time residents of downtown Miami, Lee Ann and I are very appreciative of the cultural contributions of the Frost Art Museum and its presence in the community,” said David Lester.

MA+D will bring together 60-70 prominent international art and design dealers to downtown Miami from February 13-18, 2014. The Fair will take place during Florida’s peak season in a spectacular round pavilion surrounding the Noguchi Fountain at Bayfront Park.

MA+D joins the prestigious roster of fairs organized by IFAE, including the 5th annual Miami International Art Fair (MIA), the 17th annual Art Palm Beach (APB), the 18th annual American International Fine Art Fair (AIFAF), as well as many boutique fairs and events aboard SeaFair, the Megayacht Venue.
