Mexican Independence Day at Jaguar and Talavera

Commemorate the 200th anniversary of Mexico’s independence with an authentic celebration at Jaguar Ceviche Spoon Bar in Coconut Grove and Talavera Restaurant in Coral Gables. Sergio and Lalo Durazo and Chef Oscar del Rivero bring Mexico to Miami with dinner menus showcasing the signature flavors of Mexican cuisine. After dinner, party as they will in Mexico with live music, your favorite cocktails, and the traditional ceremony, El Grito, in honor of Mexico’s heroes. Menu highlights include:

Ceviche Tricolor (Jaguar)
A special take on Jaguar’s signature ceviche with black grouper marinated in lime juice and served with jicama salsa

Sopes de Mole—Sampler (Talavera)
An appetizer perfect for sharing with handmade sopes (thick tortillas) topped with house signature moles with chicken, pork or beef

Chiles en Nogada (Jaguar and Talavera)
A classic Mexican dish featuring a pepper stuffed with pork tenderloin and topped with a creamy walnut sauce and pomegranate seeds, uniquely presented to showcase the colors of the Mexican flag

Almohadas de Cajeta (Jaguar and Talavera)
Sweet crepes filled with dulce de leche and toasted hazelnuts served with caramelized bananas and vanilla ice cream


Jaguar will offer traditional margaritas as well as a large selection of premium tequilas, homemade Sangrita, and a variety of Mexican beers including Negra Modelo, Pacifico and Dos Equis. At Talavera, enjoy margarita creations with unique ingredients like cilantro, tamarind, and jamaica, and sample premium Mexican Mezcal served with fresh oranges and sal de guzano.
