Stroll the historic pedestrian walkway originally created by Carl Fisher in 1912 with Resident Historian, Dr. Paul George. Wander the streets once mangrove forest which were transformed into a pedestrian mall by Morris Lapidus in the 1960’s. Lincoln Road has sidewalk cafes, shops, gardens and fountains and great examples of MiMo and Art Deco architecture, including the Lincoln Theater.

Join Dr. Paul George on a delightful ride through the tree-shaded bike trails of the area that Henry Flagler used as a staging area for the Overseas Railroad to KeyWest. Parrot Jungle, one of Miami’s first tourist attractions, was opened in 1936 by Franz and Louise Scherr. The first visitors paid 25 cents each to visit this attraction. The site of the Serpentarium was nearby. The Village of Pinecrest purchased the land in 2002 and reopened it as Pinecrest Gardens.
