Brazilian mandolin artist Hamilton de Holanda will perform June 16, at the Miami Gibson Showroom as part of a tribute to Gene de Souza for the 7-year Anniversary of his award-winning show, Café Brazil.

Hamilton de Holanda

Considered to be the greatest living Brazilian mandolin player (bandolim in Portuguese), Hamilton has recorded numerous critically acclaimed albums and has collaborated with stars like Cesaria Evora, Djavan, João Bosco, David Grisman, Ivan Lins, and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin. Hamilton headlines jazz festivals around the world and the French music press called him “The prince of the mandolin.” In 2008 he was nominated for a Latin Grammy for Best Instrumental Album.

Diogo Nogueira

Diogo Nogueira is the new star of samba music in Brazil. Son of the legendary João Nogueira, he began learning the rhythms and harmonies of classic samba tunes at his home during parties and rehearsals with many legends like Beth Carvalho and Paulo Cesar Pinheiro. Diogo is on magazine covers and the top of the charts all over Brazil. His success has garnered him a 2008 Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.
