Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Coral Gables is ready to open its doors with a grand opening celebration worthy of the legendary dancer the studio is named after. Event goers are expected to have a ball as cocktails, and of course amazing dance acts will be part of this festive opening event. The grand opening event taking place Wednesday September 14, 2011 from 6:00-9:00PM with a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Coral Gables Mayor Jim Cason and Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce Mark Trowbridge.
This dance studio is not only a business venture but a passion, a way of life for owners Vera and Vladimir Kosarev. The married couple originally from Russia see dance as more than just a fun pass time, to them it’s a precious art form that all persons can learn to further express their individuality. This amazing couple knows as their professional dance accomplishments include World Master Champions, Fred Astaire National Champions, and United States National Finalists. They have dedicated themselves to teaching dance all over the U.S. for several years teaching Ballroom, Latin, and Swing to Salsa and Argentine Tango and other forms of dance. They are proud to have earned many awards for teaching dance. They now are excited to find themselves opening their own studio in the heart of Coral Gables.
The grand opening event will also feature light bites as well as interactive dance at the end of the evening where guests can learn a few steps while having a great time. Special entertainment will feature dance performances by champion dancers and owners of the studio Vera and Vladimir Kosarev themselves. The grand opening event will showcase the gorgeous facility and give the opportunity to event goers to mingle and interact with the staff of Fred Astaire Dance Studio.
The dream of owning their own dance studio is finally coming to fruition for this couple that truly believes in the power of dance. Vera Kosarev is a firm believer that dances can help with weight loss, overall health, and confidence. She points to the wildly popular Dancing with the Stars show as proof positive that ballroom and other types of dance are beneficial as most celebrities on the show express how the experience was life changing for them. In, fact the Fred Astaire Dance Studio model (Conceptual Method of Teaching) which has been around for 60 years is the same method used on Dancing with the Stars because students’ learn faster and progress more quickly. Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Coral Gables will offer private lessons, group instruction, and will offer weekly practice parties. A big part of what they offer is dance lessons for those future brides and grooms that will have the spot light on them during their big wedding day!
