GRAMMY-winning, international pop sensation and critically acclaimed songwriter, Kim Petras will release her anticipated new single “Alone” featuring Nicki Minaj on Friday, April 21. Kim recently won her first GRAMMY Award for Best Pop/Duo Group Performance for her global No. 1, platinum smash hit, “Unholy,” with Sam Smith. Petras made her debut on the GRAMMY stage with one of the best performances of the night alongside Smith and accepted the award with a moving speech. “Unholy,” which recently surpassed 1 billion streams, rocketed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the Billboard Global 200 Chart, Spotify and Apple Music worldwide charts, and the U.K. Official Singles Chart as well as the Mediabase Top 40 airplay chart. The song became one of 2022’s top pop debuts and marked Petras’ first career No. 1, as well as a historic first in LGBTQ+ chart and GRAMMY history – Petras and Smith became the first openly transgender solo artist and non-binary solo artist, respectively to ascend to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and win a GRAMMY in the category of Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Kim was also recently honored with Variety’s Innovator of the Year Award and Billboard’s Chartbreaker Award.
To celebrate the launch of the annual issue, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, in partnership with Hard Rock, will also be hosting a series of events at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. from Friday, May 19 through Sunday, May 21. The Hard Rock Hotel pool will be transformed into Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Island, where guests can enjoy interactive photo moments, meet and greets with SI Swimsuit models, beauty and wellness activations, freebies and more.
