A celebration of the best musicians from the Cuban diaspora! This year, Miami Light Project and FUNDarte, in collaboration with Nu Deco Ensemble present Global Cuba Fest 2019 featuring Nu Deco Nucleus with world-renowned Cuban singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Yusa!
Nu Deco Ensemble performed during Global Cuba Fest 2017 to SOLD OUT audiences in a series featuring Jorge Martin’s A Cuban in Vermont; new symphonic suites inspired by the Cuban diaspora; and collaborations with Dayramir Gonzalez, and Danay Suarez.
Born in the Buena Vista district of Havana, Yusa is perfectly at ease playing guitar, bass, keyboard or percussion instruments. Her voice is also a powerful instrument! Yusa’s music is defined as a young and thoroughly modern musical style laced with funk, jazz, rap, and soul influences, but holding on tightly to its African and Caribbean roots.
