First-Time Visitors To Seminole Casino Coconut Creek Hit Bally Slot Machines Jackpots On Two Consecutive Days For $178,224

Two out-of-towners hit jackpots on slot machines on two consecutive days, Mar. 11 and 12 at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek for a total take of $178,224. Neither had been to the casino before.

On Friday, Harold T. from Gilmanton, New Hampshire, won $18,000 on a two-cent Quick Hit Platinum machine. On Saturday, Rebecca D. won $160,000 on a $1 Quick Hit Triple Blazing 7s slot. Both are progressive slot machines manufactured by Bally Technologies.

Harold T. lives in Port St. Lucie in the winter and visits either Seminole Casino Immokalee or Seminole Casino Brighton approximately once a week. But this was the first time he’d tried Seminole Casino Coconut Creek.

“You never expect it,” he said of the jackpot. “I’ve been playing slot machines forever. I like to go to casinos for entertainment; I don’t expect to win.” The $18,000 jackpot? “My biggest payoff, so it’s like a home run to me!”

Rebecca D.’s $160,000-plus jackpot was the result of a “father and daughter day trip to the Hard Rock” in Hollywood from their home in Orlando. “I wanted to get out of the car so we stopped at Coconut Creek on the way,” said her father, Leon. The ultrasound technology student and mother of a four-year-old boy, will take her child on a Disney Cruise and invest the rest in a money market with the ultimate goal of purchasing a home, according to her dad.

“She hit right away. I thought it was for $16,000,” he said of the jackpot screen. “I wasn’t paying attention to the commas!”

Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, Seminole Casino Coconut Creek offers more than 1,900 gaming machines including Las Vegas-style slots: Playboy, Carnival of Mystery, Golden Monkey, Millionaire Sevens, Mayan Riches and Lion Dance, wide area progressive slot machines: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Dirty Harry, Time Machine, and Monopoly, and new theme games: Star Trek, Dean Martin, Hot Hot Penny, and Reel ‘Em In.

The casino also features non-stop action in its smoke-free Poker Room upstairs for separate gaming pleasure, with a wide array of tournaments for all types of players. Live games include Texas Hold ’em, 7-Card Stud, and Omaha tournaments from $85 to $1,050.  In December 2010, the casino added The Site, its newest building offering 400-plus gaming positions, 70 new blackjack seats, a non-smoking gambling area, a new restaurant, The Whistle Stop and the Wrecking Bar. The Site derives its name from the facility’s overall theme – that of a construction site – complete with an actual lunch wagon in its restaurant.
