Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar in Fort Lauderdale (800 E. Las Olas Blvd.) will celebrate National Rum Month with $15 “Rum Flights” all month long in August, introducing two new rum cocktails, and half-priced rum drink specials on National Rum Day on Tuesday, August 16, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. during happy hour.

Cuba Libre is calling all rum fanatics and enthusiasts, to join in the rum celebration as they partner with Bacardi and Don Q to offer guests a curated rum month cocktail menu, including rum flights – El Coqui Flight with Don Q (Gold, Reserva 7, Gran Reserva – $15), Facundo’s Flight with Bacardi (Anejo Cuatro, Gran Reserva Ocho, Gran Reserva Diez – $15). Each flight has three 1-ounce pours of the featured rums and will be available all day throughout the restaurant from Monday, August 1 – Wednesday, August 31.

Additional rum month cocktail specials are Spiced Caipirinha (Don Q Oak Barrel spiced rum, guarapo, sugar, lime – $13), and Sol de Verano (Bacardi Anejo Cuatro rum, guarapo, pineapple and lime juice – $13).

On National Rum Day, Tuesday, August 16, the half off drink specials will be available at the bar during happy hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and applies to any drink on or off the menu that includes rum (excluding rum flights). Full Happy Hour menu will also be available.

Additionally, satisfy your late-night cravings with “Late Nite Bites” now available until 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays during Cuba Libre Nights.

The Late Nite Bites menu offers a variety of options such as Tropical Chips and Trio of Dips (Plantain and malanga chips. Black bean hummus, guacamole Cubano, Cuba Libre Salsa – $11.75); Pineapple Guacamole Cubano (Avocado, grilled golden pineapple, roasted jalapeños, fresh lime juice, extra virgin olive oil, plantain chips – small $10.75| large $15.75); Crab Guacamole (Blue crab meat, avocado, grilled golden pineapple, roasted jalapeños, fresh lime juice, extra virgin olive oil, plantain chips – $23.50); Barrio Chino Chicken Wings (A pound of award-winning Asian BBQ glazed wings. Pickled pineapple, sweet chili dipping sauce – $17.75); Bolitas de Yuca (Mozzarella and queso fresco stuffed yuca fritters, lemon mayonnaise sauce – $10.75); Spinach and Manchego Buñuelos (Manchego cheese and spinach fritters, goat cheese crema, organic olive oil – $12); and Mama Amelia’s Empanadas (2 per order) served with ají-sour cream (Pork Del Campo: Pulled pork, roasted poblano, charred tomatoes, West Indies cilantro; Beef Picadillo: Cienfuegos-style ground beef, potatoes, Manzanilla olives, raisins Chicken De la Casa: Hand-chopped chicken, corn, Jack cheese – $15.75).

Cuba Libre Nights summer drink specials include Cherry Latina Cocktail (Smirnoff cherry, strawberry puree, agave nectar $9), Havana Limeade (New Amsterdam gin, St. Germain $9), Viva La Summer Shot (Bacardi Limon, peach schnapps, cranberry, pineapple $9), Cuban Star (Absolut Elyx, Coco Lopez, pineapple) $9), and Dos Equis lager ($7).
