Bloomingdale’s Thinks Pink and Supports the Fight Against Breast Cancer

Thinking Pink, Bloomingdale’s is once again supporting The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF) and the search for a cure in stores and on bloomingdales.com. Bloomingdale’s, along with long-standing partner, The Estée Lauder Companies, will demonstrate their support for the cause with special events, exclusive merchandise, and exciting promotions.Since the start of the Pink campaign in 2005, Bloomingdale’s has raised in excess of 3 million dollars for BCRF.

How To Support Locally at Bloomingdale’s Aventura & Miami at The Falls:

  1. Give Pink, Get More – Bloomingdale’s cardholders have the opportunity to opt into Give Pink, Get More, for a 15.00 donation to BCRF from September 28 – October 31. By joining Give Pink, Get More, shoppers can receive up to 250.00 in rebate cards just in time for the holiday shopping season.
  2. October 15 at 3pm: Meet Marisa Acocella Marchetto – Join Bloomingdale’s Aventura for a personal appearance of the nationally acclaimed author, cartoonist and breast cancer survivor. Marisa Acocella Marchetto helps Bloomingdale’s Aventura think PINK this season as she creates a sketch LIVE and in person!  View her process in creating these personal sketches with her first-hand experience in mind. While you’re here, enjoy an exhibit of Marisa’s humorous and heartwarming cartoons created for her book Cancer Vixen and those created for The New Yorker.
  3. October 20 from 2-8pm: Ready, Set, Pink! – This year Bloomingdale’s is having the first annual Ready, Set, Pink! event in all stores across the country. Aventura & Miami at The Falls shoppers can expect a total pink experience, complete with music, maniCURES, refreshments, trunk shows, special guests, and fun! This event will celebrate Bloomingdale’s partnership and funding to BCRF from the 2010 pink campaign enabling researchers across the country – including locally at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center – to continue their groundbreaking work. Both Aventura & Miami will host a special meet and greet with two of the four UM researchers awarded funds last year.
  4. Get PINK’D – Bloomingdale’s is also offering many products with a designated portion of sales benefitting breast cancer research. These include exclusive Bloomingdale’s merchandise detailed below, as well as items from designers like the Movado Bold limited edition BCRF Museum Watch (350.00; Movado will donate 50.00 per watch to BCRF), Estee Lauder Jeweled Pink Ribbon Pin (12.50; Estee Lauder will donate 20% of pin purchase to BCRF), and Cusiniart PowerBlend 600 Deluxe Blender (sale $79; Cusiniart donating 32500.00 to BCRF).


The Pink Card – The gift that gives twice, when purchased, 10% of the card’s value is donated to BCRF, and when redeemed, 10% of any spending exceeding the card’s value is also                 donated.  Donations are made on cards purchased from September 22 – October 31, and redeemed from September 22-December 31.

The Big Pink Umbrella – With a chic black exterior and a bold interior highlighted with pops of  of pink ribbons, this umbrella retails for 12.00 with 6.00 going to BCRF.

The Little Pink Bag – This reusable pink tote is inspired by Bloomingdale’s famous Little Brown Bag and is a travel must-have. The limited time bag is available from September 26 –                 October 31, and retails for 20.00 with 2.00 going to BCRF.

C by Bloomingdale’s Cashmere Sweaters – By purchasing any C by Bloomingdale’s sweater during the month of October, you help make a 10000.00 donation to BCRF.
