The official opening of the Friends of the New World Symphony’s 2011-12 season took place at the New World Center on Saturday, September 24 at 7:30pm. The evening began with an incredible concert, “Tchaikovsky’s Fifth,” and followed by a post-performance bash – Symphony After Hours – at the Fontainebleau Hotel’s Glimmer Ballroom at 9 p.m. The evening integrated original classical music and rock-n-roll, all on one stage in one performance. Symphony After Hours featured a special appearance by DJ Walshy Fire and an incredible live performance by Jorge Mejia and The Green Room. In addition to amazing grooves, guests spent the night enjoying complimentary GREY GOOSE Vodka cocktails, wine and light bites.
