Tri-Rail, South Florida’s popular commuter rail system, is calling all young singers between the ages of 5 and 17 to audition for the highly anticipated “South Florida’s Kids Got Talent” competition. The auditions will take place on Saturday, November 18, during “Tri-Rail Day” at the Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale.

Talented young singers from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties are encouraged to showcase their skills and compete for a chance to participate in Tri-Rail’s South Florida Kids Got Talent 2024. This exciting opportunity aligns with the new partnership between Tri-Rail and the Museum of Discovery and Science to support the Thomas & Friends: Explore the Rails traveling exhibit.

“We are thrilled about this collaboration, where we will bring local talent to the museum on a day when we celebrate trains,” said David Dech, Executive Director of SFRTA/Tri-Rail. “It is a perfect match to highlight how our train system not only brings families together but also serves as an important mode of transportation for our passengers every day.”

The auditions are open to solo or group singers aged five to seventeen who reside in South Florida. Each act will have a four-minute opportunity to showcase their talents before a panel of judges who will select the performers for the final competition. The final event is scheduled for Saturday, February 24, 2024, as part of Tri-Rail’s 15th annual “Rail Fun Day.”

Tri-Rail’s “Rail Fun Day” has become an annual tradition, attracting over 25,000 children and families in previous years. This free community event offers interactive games, arts and crafts, and entertainment, while also promoting the many benefits of riding the commuter rail system. Last year, 15-year-old Victoria Johnson captivated both the audience and the judges with her powerful voice and confident stage presence, earning her the grand prize of $500. In addition to the cash prize, Johnson received a one-year contract inclusive of a photoshoot with composite cards courtesy of Posche Models & Talent, professional studio recording sessions with MikeSoperMusic, and a “Family Plus Membership” from Miami Children’s Museum.

If you or someone you know has a passion for singing and dreams of taking the spotlight, don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity. To schedule an audition, please register at www.tri-rail.com on or before November 14.
