A little bit more than a year ago, Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida contacted several visual artists, designers, and celebrities from the cultural world and invited them to create an art piece on a pair of Pointe shoes. The response has been outstanding! Forty art pieces created on satin ballet slippers will be in an exhibition curated by Francine Birbragher-Rozencwaig on Thursday, March 31 at 6 pm at the Bal Habour Shops.
What is more outstanding is that collectors as well as general audience will have the opportunity to acquire these unique pieces as they will be on a silent auction to raise funds for the ballet company commanded by Maestro Vladimir Issaev.
The event will be part of the Bal Harbour Art Nights that is presented every month at the distinguished Bal Harbour Shops. These incredible pieces created by international artists such as Elena Bond, Luciana Abait, Alicia Erminy, Leonel Matheu, Pat Morales, Sandra Perez-Liberman, Carlos Poveda, Orlando Urdaneta, among many others will be for auction at Calypso St. Barth. The Silent Auction begins at 6:30 pm and ends at 8:30 pm.
An installation of fantastic photography will also be displayed through the prestigious stores at Bal Harbor Shops and visitors will be able to enjoy the works of Iran Issa-Khan at Saks Fifth Avenue; Peggy Levison Nolan at the St. Regis Lounge; Greg Lotus at 100% Capri; the Bruce Weber photo exhibit will take place at Books & Books; Bert Stern, Serge Mendjisky y Alaoui Guerra will exhibit at the Opera Gallery; “By and About Women” exhibition from the Lotus House will take place at Neiman Marcus while the magnificent Roberto Cavalli Fall 2011 collection and photo archives “Black is Never Absolute” will be displayed at Roberto Cavalli.
Additionally, the audience will enjoy live music interpreted by the faculty musicians of Vladimir Issaev’s Music School conducted by Saúl Vera and Eugenia Méndez.
