This Weekend's Geography
1 neighborhoodOn a Tuesday night in Brickell, about 50 people walked into Claudie and walked out with a new community. That was the idea, anyway — and by most accounts, it worked. PROXHAUS, the new Miami-based platform founded by Silvana Massolo, held its official launch event on September 23, drawing a room that included Mark Burns, Executive Director of the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District; Joe Hornstein, VP of Philanthropy at Goodwill South Florida; Edith Vargas, Founder of Keeping Your Book; and Emmy Award-winning journalist Pamela Silva.
The name is the thesis. PROXHAUS — proximity plus haus — is built on the premise that getting the right people, ideas, businesses, and experiences into the same room leads somewhere. Massolo has been testing that theory for years. "PROXHAUS is the community I wish I had when I was 25, at scale," she said at the event. The platform operates through two flagship experiences — The Room and The Table — alongside cause-driven programming and founder-facilitated introductions designed to move relationships past the business card stage.
"The name PROXHAUS reflects our belief that proximity creates possibility — that bringing the right people, ideas, businesses, and experiences closer together can lead to impactful change." — Silvana Massolo, Founder, PROXHAUS
Membership is free at the community level, with access to news, events, exclusive discounts, and updates. Paid tiers run from $195 to $3,500 annually, structured for young professionals, civic and nonprofit leaders, individuals, businesses, and corporate partners. Benefits scale accordingly: member spotlights, social and website exposure, advance event access, founder-facilitated introductions, member pricing on experiences, email marketing opportunities, and brand activations.
PROXHAUS is also building strategic partnerships with brands, businesses, organizations, and community leaders — creating new avenues for collaboration and visibility within the network. As the platform grows, Massolo is exploring expansion into additional markets through partnerships with local leaders who share the vision for relationship-driven community building.
