World Renowned Salsa Musician Willie Colón Brings Latin Flair to Hard Rock Live on Sunday, November 25

World renowned singer, producer, composer and trombonist Willie Colón will bring a taste of his popular and unique salsa music to Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at 7 p.m. Tickets go on sale Saturday, November 3 at 1 p.m.

Colón has fused his musical talent, his passion for humanity and his community and political activism into an extraordinary, multifaceted career over the years. As a musician, composer, arranger, singer and trombonist, as well as producer and director, he still holds the all-time record for sales in the salsa genre by creating more than 40 productions that have sold more than 30 million records worldwide.

Combining elements of jazz, rock and salsa, his work incorporates the rhythms of traditional music from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Brazil and Africa. His sound, which has powerfully influenced modern Latin jazz, reflects both rhythmic traditional lyrics and his devotion to his cultural Puerto Rican roots. His collaboration with Héctor LaVoe was the milestone that is credited for spreading his fusion of tropical and urban music throughout Latin America.

Over the years, Colón has had successful collaborations with salsa musicians and singers such as Ismael Miranda, Celia Cruz, Soledad Bravo, David Byrne, Fonesca and the Fania All Stars. He also collaborated with Rubén Blades to create Siembra, the biggest selling album of all time for its genre, and in 2003 the duo reunited for the Siembra 25th Anniversary Concert to the delight of 27,000 fans.

To date, Colón has received 11 Grammy nominations, a Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award from the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences and 15 gold and five platinum records. He was selected as one of the 100 most influential Latinos by People en Español and was inducted into the Bronx Walk of Fame in his New York hometown in 2004.
