“Witness to Murder: A Darrow Mystery” Starring Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Tom Cavanagh and Wendie Malick Premieres Sunday, September 8

Co-Stars Tom Cavanagh, Wendie Malick Return
For Fourth Title in Film Series

Kimberly Williams-Paisley (Father of the Bride, “Nashville”), Tom Cavanagh (“The Flash,” “Ed”) and Wendie Malick (”BoJack Horseman,” “Hot in Cleveland”) star in “Witness to Murder: A Darrow Mystery,” a new, original premiering Sunday, September 8 (9 p.m. ET/PT), on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

Claire Darrow (Williams-Paisley) and her mother Joanna (Malick) face a tough decision when investment attorney Cassie Piper (Elysia Rotaru, “Arrow”) comes to them for help.  Joanna was not only Cassie’s mentor at their New York law firm, she was her friend.  Cassie betrayed that friendship when she leveled the insider trading accusations the ended Joanna’s career – accusations Cassie later realized were faked by their corrupt bosses.  Now those same attorneys have set Cassie up on felony charges of financial crimes, and the pending case has already cost her custody of her beloved daughter.  Claire leaves the decision up to Joanna, who makes up her mind to take the case when her ex-boss Brian Herriman (Martin Cummins, “When Calls the Heart”) tries to buy her off with a job offer.  But the Darrows’ task becomes much more complicated when an apparent attempt on Brian’s life leaves another man dead.  Brian identifies Cassie as his would-be killer and there is powerful evidence linking her to the crimes.  Could it be another frame-up?  Claire and Joanna launch their own investigation into the incident and turn up a host of potential suspects.  Meanwhile, Claire and D.A. Miles Strasberg navigate a tricky moment in their as-yet-undefined relationship as they prepare to face one another in court.
