THE SEASON SIX PREMIERE DROVE MORE THAN 40% RISE IN VIEWERSHIP ON STARZ OTT OVER LAST SEASON

“Power” was the #1 Most Social Series of the Night, Trending in the U.S. and Worldwide on Twitter

The season six premiere of the STARZ Original series “Power” delivered the largest audience for a scripted premium cable series premiere this summer with 2.3 million total viewers (P2+) on Sunday night. This also ranks as the second largest audience for a scripted premium series debut this year.

The premiere episode of “Power” was watched by 1.47M total viewers at 8 p.m., with subsequent airings making up the balance of viewing.

“Power” also drove over 40% higher viewership on OTT for premiere day compared to season five, with additional platforms still to report. All of this activity made the STARZ App the #1 entertainment app on IOS, ahead of Netflix, Hulu and Amazon, on Sunday, August 25.

On Sunday, “Power” was the #1 most social primetime series across all broadcast, cable, and syndicated networks according to Nielsen Social Ratings and ListenFirst Interest Score.  #PowerTV trended organically at #1 in the US on Twitter, while other Power related hashtags trended worldwide throughout the day.  The “Power” premiere celebration at Madison Square Garden last week generated over 1.43B potential Twitter impressions, up 40% from season five’s premiere event.  To date, the Power season 6 trailer has received over 21M views across social and digital platforms, up 130% from season 5.

“Power Confidential,” the official “Power” after-show hosted by Terrence J made a solid debut retaining 55% of the “Power” audience. The premiere episode featured series star Lela Loren, whose fate as AUSA Angela Valdes was sealed in the season six premiere, Executive Producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and writer Andre Ferguson.

In 2018, “Power” averaged 10.8 multiplatform viewers per episode and was the #1 rated premium series last summer in A18-49 and African American viewers.

Significant increases are expected with the addition of Live +3, Live +7, VOD and OTT viewing in the coming days.
