U.S. Navy F/A-18 Hornet Demo Added to Fort Lauderdale Air Show

unnamed-24The U.S. Navy F/A-18 Hornet will soar across the skies over Fort Lauderdale beach in just two weeks, as the return of the Fort Lauderdale Air Show promises the best lineup of any Air Show in North America this year, organizers said.

The addition of the Navy fighter jet now means four branches of the military will be performing during the Fort Lauderdale Air Show, all happening May 7-8 over the oceanfront in Fort Lauderdale.

The single-seat F/A-18 Hornet is the nation’s first strike-fighter. It was designed for traditional strike applications such as interdiction and close air support without compromising its fighter capabilities. With its excellent fighter and self-defense capabilities, the F/A-18 at the same time increases strike mission survivability. F/A-18 Hornets are currently operating from air stations worldwide.

“With the addition of the Hornet Demo we now have four military jet demos and three jet demonstration teams in our performer lineup,” said Bryan Lilley, President of the Air Show.  “The Fort Lauderdale Air Show has become an all-star game of the air show industry for 2016.”
