Tiffany & Co. Supports the Buoniconti Fund To Cure Paralysis

On September 27, 2010 NFL Hall of Famer Nick Buoniconti and his son Marc Buoniconti hosted the 25th Annual Great Sports Legend Dinner alongside President Bill Clinton. The event was held at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC to benefit the Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis. The recipients of the  2010 Great Sports Legend awards were Willie Mays, Bill Russell, Michael Irvin, Ignacio “Nacho” Figueras, Annika Sorenstam, Brian Leetch, Laird Hamilton and Calvin Borel. Bob Costas was the Master of Ceremonies. Barbara and Jack Nicklaus received the 2010 Inspiration Award, Dan Marino was presented with the 2010 Buoniconti Fund Award, Tom Brokaw received the 2010 American Icon Award and Christine E. Lynn, received the 2010 Outstanding Philanthropist Award. The silver anniversary celebration raised more than $16 million

The success of the night’s fundraising initiative was thanks in part to Tiffany & Co.’s participation with the presence of its fun and exciting charitable activity the “Mystery Blue Box Wall”  which invites guests to purchase a mystery Tiffany & Co blue box containing a surprise Tiffany gift inside. Guests had the opportunity to win items ranging from gorgeous bracelets to stunning  Tiffany & Co. watches.  Tiffany’s also produced all of the awards that were distributed to the astounding list of honorees recognized at the glorious event.

Other guests in attendance included Donald Trump, Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Olympian Skater Dorothy Hamill, NFL NY Giants Hall of Famer Harry Carson, CBS Sportscaster Lesley Visser,  Apollo 11 Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, 10 x Olympic Medalist in Swimming Gary Hall, Jr, 1968 Olympic Long Jump Medalist Bob Beamon, MLB Great Scott Erickson, Former Miami Dolphin Earl Morrall, actress and model Christie Brinkley,  Former Miami Dolphin Nat Moore, Superbowl MVP with the Redskins Mark Rypien, Former MLB Player with the Mets and Yankees Phil Linz, Former Miami Dolphin Superbowl Champion Dick Anderson, Tiffany & Co. Group Director Henry Gonzalez, and CEO of MGSCOMM Manny Machado.
