On Sunday, December 8th, The Standard will host its annual Sunday BBQ, the unofficial closing event of the Basel season. This year’sDon’t Be Lazy Sunday BBQ will promote civic responsibility and voter engagement with the ACLU ahead of the 2020 election. The event will re-introduce Standard Votes while promoting the ACLU’s Voting Rights Project.

The Standard and ACLU have called upon fashion friends and other lifestyle brands to co-host and curate special activities and awareness programming for the afternoon. Alongside The Standard, these brands— Ben & Jerry’s, Catbird, Everlane, La Colombe Coffee Roasters, Levi’s, LOROD, Lyft, Mara Hoffman, Noah, Obey Giant, Outdoor Voices, Postmates, PUMA, and Yola Mezcal—are all committed to raising awareness and funds for the ACLU to bolster voting rights and education in 2020. Tunes will be provided by popular NY nightlife DJ Mazurbate and The Misshapes.

In addition to enjoying the perfect wind down to what is sure to be an incredible Art Basel 2019 season, guests will walk away armed with the knowledge and tools necessary to be an informed voter and pro-voter volunteer in the upcoming election and beyond. An ACLU voting rights bingo game will facilitate actions attendees can take on-site at the BBQ, and guests are encouraged to participate in various video challenges through social media activations. Winners will take away prizes from the aforementioned brand hosts. A percentage of all cocktail proceeds from the afternoon will go directly to the ACLU’s Voting Rights Project and ACLU-FL.
