SNL and SCTV Alum Martin Short Set to Appear at Hard Rock Live

Saturday Night Live and Second City Television funnyman Martin Short is set to appear at Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on March 28 at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 11 at noon.

Comedian, actor, producer and singer Martin Short got his start in showbiz at the Second City improv troupe in Edmonton, Alberta in 1977. Two years later, Short made his first film, Lost and Found, and also co-starred on the critically lauded but little-seen American sitcom The Associates.

It was while appearing on the SCTV Network from 1982-83 and Saturday Night Live from 1984-85 that Short attained stardom with such distinctive comic characterizations as supercilious showbiz promoter Jackie Rogers Jr. and pointy-headed nerd Ed Grimley (the latter was spun off into a Saturday morning cartoon series in 1989). He also scored big with his devastating, dead-on impressions of such icons as Jerry Lewis whom invited Short to join him as co-host of a Martin and Lewis retrospective in 1993.

He has starred in the films Clifford (1994), Three Amigos (1986), Innerspace (1989), and the 1992 remake of Father of the Bride (and part 2 in 1995). In 1993, Short made his Broadway debut, assuming the role Richard Dreyfuss originated in a musical adaptation of the 1977 film The Goodbye Girl. The following year, Short starred in his own vehicle, The Martin Short Show. Short has lent his comedic talents to countless animated films and had a starring run from 2001 to 2004 as Jiminy Glick in TV specials.

Tickets cost $59, $49 and $39; all seats are available at the Hard Rock Live Box Office, open Tuesday – Saturday from noon to 7 p.m. and on Sunday & Monday – only open on event days at noon.
